Ben Lee
Street photographer - Ben Lee is a street photographer based in Hong Kong.
Ben’s earliest memory of taking photos was on a trip to Beijing when he was 10 years old when before leaving was taught how to change a camera film roll and how to manage it. Into his teens, digital photography became more prevalent a small Sony point-and-shoot would travel with him on early teenage adventures. It wasn’t until 2008 when he picked up his first DSLR, a Canon 400D, that his love of photography really took off.
As professional life started Ben was fortunate to find jobs that enabled him to travel across South East Asia. It was these trips with weekends wandering small streets and taking in the local atmosphere is where Ben’s enjoyment of photography really took off. Luckily living in HK, a city fortunate to have thick jungles, mountainous countryside and arguably the best city skyline has given Ben a backdrop to further develop his photography. A golden hour might be photography’s most famous hour, but it’s the hour before sunset, with the long shadows and deep natural colors which Ben enjoys most!
